Water Testing in Mesa Before You Spend on a System

We visit your home, draw samples from your own faucets and explain each reading as it comes up. You learn what your water needs, what it can skip, and what each option costs to buy and maintain. The test is free, with zero obligation.

Why We Test Before Anything Else

Every system we install starts as a reading on a test strip or meter. Without one, you are guessing, and guessing is how people end up with a softener sized for a smaller home or a filter that removes the wrong thing.

How hard your water is, and what else is in it, can vary from one home to the next. A test tells us whether you need a water softener, whole-home filtration, a reverse osmosis unit at the kitchen sink, a combination, or nothing at all.

We also look past the purchase price. Once we know your numbers, we can show you how often filters, salt or membranes would need replacing, so you can compare what a system costs over years, not just on install day.

What Your Water Test Covers

Hardness

We measure calcium and magnesium, the minerals behind white crust on faucets and spotty glasses. This number decides whether a softener makes sense and how large it should be.

Chlorine and taste

We check disinfectant levels, the usual cause of a pool-like smell or flat taste. That reading tells us whether a carbon stage would help.

Total dissolved solids

This number adds up everything carried in the water, from minerals to salts. When it runs high, reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink tends to make a difference you can actually taste.

pH and a look at your plumbing

We note your pH and take a quick look at where water enters your home, including any existing softener loop or old equipment. That way the advice fits the pipes you actually have.

Your results, explained on the spot

We go over each reading with you at the kitchen table, in plain terms. If something like lead from older plumbing is a concern, we will tell you when a lab test is the better tool and how to arrange one.

Signs It's Time to Test Your Water

  • White crust on fixtures

Scale building up on showerheads, faucets or the glass shower door is a strong hint your water is hard. A test shows how hard.

  • Your water heater is working harder

Popping or rumbling sounds from the tank often mean mineral sediment has settled at the bottom. Testing helps you decide whether softening would protect the next one.

  • It smells or tastes off

A chlorine smell, a metallic taste or bottled water piling up in the recycling bin are all good reasons to check what is coming out of the tap.

  • You're shopping for a system

If a salesperson has already quoted you a softener or filter, a test is the fair way to check whether it matches your water before you sign.

  • Itchy skin, scratchy towels

Minerals in hard water keep soap from lathering and rinsing cleanly. The leftover film can dry out skin and leave towels feeling rough even after a full wash.

What Happens During Your Visit

  1. 1

    Call to choose a time

Let us know what you've been noticing and when you'll be home, and we'll book a visit around your schedule.

  2. 2

    Testing at your faucet

We take samples from the kitchen and usually one more faucet and run the readings while you watch. Most of the time goes to conversation, not waiting.

  3. 3

    Going over your choices

We explain what your water needs, what it can do without, and the upkeep each system would bring, from bags of salt to filter changes. If you need nothing, we tell you.

  4. 4

A price, if you ask for one

When a system makes sense, you get installed system pricing at the visit or by phone. Installation is already in that price, because every water treatment system we sell includes the install.

What Testing Costs, and What Comes After

The in-home water test is free, and you owe us nothing afterward. Where cost does come in is the system your results point to, if any. These are the things that move that number, and we cover each one with you before you decide.

What the test finds
Moderately hard water with a chlorine taste calls for different equipment than very hard water with high dissolved solids. Fewer problems usually means a simpler, lower-cost setup.
Size of your home
The number of bathrooms and people in your home sets how much water a system has to handle. A system sized correctly lasts longer and wastes less.
Your plumbing setup
A home with an existing softener loop is quicker to fit than one that needs new connections run to the main line. We look at this during the test so there are no surprises later.
Upkeep over the years
Salt, carbon cartridges and RO membranes all have their own replacement schedules. We lay out those ongoing costs next to the up-front price so you can compare the true cost of ownership.

Water Testing Questions

Something not covered here? (480) 914-1657

Is the water test really free?

Yes, it costs you nothing. You won't get a bill for the visit, and you're under no obligation to buy a system afterward. Lots of people ask for one simply because they're curious about their tap water, and we're happy to come out for that alone.

Will you try to sell me a system during the visit?

We will tell you what your readings mean and what would help, if anything. If your water does not need treatment, we will say that plainly. Pricing is there when you ask for it, not before.

Can your test detect lead?

Our in-home test focuses on hardness, chlorine, dissolved solids and pH. Lead usually comes from older pipes and fixtures inside a home and needs a laboratory to measure reliably. If that is your worry, we will explain how to get a lab test done.

How long does the visit take?

Most visits take well under an hour. The readings themselves are quick, and the rest is time for your questions.

If I buy a system, who installs it?

The plumbers we partner with handle the installation, and that work is already built into the system price. Their installation and labor come with a 5-year warranty, so you are covered well after the install day.

Do you test outside Mesa?

Yes. We also visit homes in nearby towns such as Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe and Queen Creek. Ask when you call and we will confirm.
